John graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2004 from The Ohio State University with a B.A. degree in both Political Science and Philosophy. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor (Cum Laude) from The University of Toledo College of Law in 2007. While at law school, John revived, and then served for two years as the President of, the Christian Legal Society, a student organization that still exists on campus today. Before taking his current position as the Lima Municipal Court Magistrate II, John served as Deputy Law Director for the City of Lima (September 2014 to January 2019), and as an Assistant Law Director (April 2014-September 2014). Prior to that, he served for over six years (2007-2014) as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Vernon L. Preston of the Court of Appeals for the Third Appellate District of Ohio. John is not only heavily involved in the Allen County Bar Association but also his church, where he has served as a board member, deacon, small group facilitator, and member of the men’s ministry team. He and his son, Noah, reside in Lima.
